The first step is to contact us to set up an initial appointment.  You can download our intake forms and fill them out prior to your first appointment.  At the end of the appointment, you can decide if you would like to continue therapy or not, and set up a specific day and time each week for ongoing appointments.

What to talk about at the first appointment:

• What your current concerns are and what you hope to get out of therapy.
• How I might be able to help you with your concerns.
• Specifics about how therapy works and how long it might take.

Sessions are generally 50 minutes for individuals, and 60 minutes for couples.

Session cancellations must be made 48 hours before your scheduled session or you will be charged the full session fee.

Everything you say in your sessions is confidential, with a few notable exceptions: if you tell your therapist that you are going to harm yourself or someone else, if you report to him or her any current child abuse, and if your insurance company requests information. From time to time your therapist consults with a supervisor, but would ask your permission before sharing anything with that supervisor.  Every effort is made to protect clients’ confidentiality in teletherapy sessions but cannot be guaranteed in the same way in-person sessions are.

You can stop treatment at any time. The only thing you will be responsible for is paying for services you have already received.
